8th ICTM Conference

March 17–18, 2027

The market for aircraft engines and stationary turbomachinery has changed in the last years significantly. Development cycles and time to market have become shorter due to new engine concepts as well as new applications for stationary turbomachinery.

Dealing with the impacts of the climate change, and digitalization on industry and society is one of the key questions for manufacturers of engines and stationary turbomachinery as well as for the suppliers. Companies therefore need innovative approaches along the entire lifecycle to meet future challenges in manufacturing and repair. Heat-resistant materials, complex geometries and integral components are but a few of the features of turbomachinery components. The manufacturing of components requires maximum part qualities with increasing requirements for productivity economics and ecologic footprint.

Future approaches can only be realized when applying new manufacturing technologies and alternative process chains. For transition of the required complex manufacturing processes to an industrial scale, an integrative-interdisciplinary approach is sufficient.

Comprehensive Program

At the ICTM Conference, top-class keynote speakers will provide insights, discuss market challenges and solution approaches for manufacturing. Further experts from industry and Fraunhofer will focus on how digitized manufacturing environments and innovative process designs (for conventional machining as well as additive manufacturing) can lead to improvements in quality and efficiency considering technological, economic and ecologic boundary conditions.

In 2027, the sessions of the two-day conference focus on:

  • Market view and challenges for aircraft engine and stationary applications
  • Future design trends and manufacturing challenges
  • Digitized Machining
  • Automation in production
  • Additive Manufacturing & MRO

The comprehensive program will follow soon.

NetZero manufacturing in turbomachinery becomes an essential element of future products for power plant solutions. It becomes an integral part of a company’s NetZero strategy and focuses on environmental compliance of future products throughout its entire life cycle.

Digitalization offers new opportunities for better and more sustainable value creation in production. One of the major challenges is to make the benefits of these technologies accessible to its users and to spread them, so that the greatest possible scaling effect for more competitiveness is created.
