How can metrology data be made available in a CAM environment to apply closed-loop machining?
Challenge and Motivation
- By feeding back metrology data into the design loop, a process designer can leverage more information to produce higher quality parts.
- However, metrology data (CMM or in-process measurement) is rarely readily available in respective process design tools, such as CAM applications.
Objective
- Concept of implementation of an IT infrastructure that provides the process planner with continuous data availability of the metrology data.
