How can PMIs be used across the entire manufacturing chain despite system breaks?
Challenge and Motivation
- The definition of a component is currently carried out using a paper drawing and an associated 3D model.
- The 2D drawing is authoritative, whereas most of the work is carried out on the basis of the 3D model.
Objective
- Identification of system discontinuities (design – manufacturing – geometric quality assurance) and their effects when using PMIs for feature definition on components.
