How to characterize DED – LB/M nozzle types and processing condition for different applications?
Challenge and Motivation
- The different types of DED powder nozzles have several advantages which make them suitable for a specific application range.
- Based on the target application the process conditions can be optimized and flexibly adapted, which however is a complex task with many variables to take into account.
Objective
- Development of a systematic method to characterize DED powder nozzles in order to assist end users in the selection of a suitable powder nozzle and the ideal processing conditions.
