Challenge and Motivation

  • Surface Integrity determines functionality and life cycle of turbomachinery components.
  • Rim zone is affected by each machining step. The final surface integrity is defined by the manufacturing process chain.

Objective

  • Development of a standardized database for surface integrity classification for the manufacture of turbomachinery construction materials.
